Michael L. Stevens, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

I have been practicing mental health treatment at a clinical level for 17 years.  I prefer a client centered approach, where I assist and foster client independence, by helping one seek solutions themselves.  I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a treatment specific to trauma recovery.

Areas of clinical focus:

I work with adolescents, individuals, and families.  I especially enjoy treating depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), poor self-esteem, marriage counseling, relational issues, gender identification issues, impulse control issues, addictions among others.

Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Utah State University (1993)

Masters Degree in Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University (1997).  While completing my graduate work, I interned at Holloman AFB, counseling Airman on various clinical issues.
